Stres juga merupakan bagian alami dan penting dari kehidupan. Akan tetapi, jika parah dan berkepanjangan maka akan berbahaya bagi kesehatan kita. Remaja menanggapi stres dengan cara yang berbeda. Sementara, stres dapat membantu Anda lebih waspada, stres juga dapat menyebabkan tekanan mental dan fisik. Beberapa berpendapat bahwa stres merupakan tekanan psikologis dan fisik, dalam menanggapi situasi yang dianggap berbahaya. Dengan istilah lain, stres merupakan cara tubuh Anda merespons segala jenis kebutuhan, ancaman, atau tekanan Stres emosional akibat perubahan fisik yang cepat dan meluas yang dirasakan setiap saat. Sebuah uji baru-baru ini oleh <\/span><\/span><span data-slate-node=\"text\"><span class=\"renderLeaf__Leaf-sc-16os9p8-2 jsuBSU\" data-slate-leaf=\"true\">American Psychological Association (APA)<\/span><\/span><span data-slate-node=\"text\"><span class=\"renderLeaf__Leaf-sc-16os9p8-2 bWEweS\" data-slate-leaf=\"true\"> menemukan bahwa remaja saat ini lebih rentan terhadap stres karena perilaku dan gaya hidup orang dewasa. Masa remaja adalah periode perkembangan di mana masalah pertumbuhan dan perkembangan seperti emosi dan pola pikir yang umumnya. Perkembangan dan pertumbuhan ini berkaitan dengan adaptasi remaja terhadap tuntutan keluarga, sosial, dan lingkungan. Masalah lainnya adalah ketidakseimbangan antara perkembangan intelektual dan emosional remaja. Banyak peneliti telah menghubungkan tingkat stres yang berlebihan dengan perkembangan depresi. Sebuah penelitian terhadap 800 responden wanita yang diterbitkan dalam depresi pada Agustus 2009 menunjukkan hubungan antara berbagai jenis stres dan depresi berat individu. Selama penelitian, para peneliti mengukur bahwa peristiwa stres berkontribusi pada memburuknya gangguan depresi pada wanita.
